The Skannex™ Partner Program - our attractive B2B solution:

All manufacturers of rapid test (lateral flow) immunoassays are welcome to become a Skannex partner. The following steps are required:

  1. Simply email us images taken of your assays that cover a complete standard curve. Please use a scanner and make sure the resolution is set to 300DPI.

If you do not have a scanner however need to use a digital camera, follow this guide: Digital Camera Guide

After our initial control of your images, we might request physical samples of the required immunoassay. The physical samples should cover a complete standard curve. Alternatively we need a set of unused cassettes together with standards we can use to apply in recommended dilutions.

    Email images to:

    support[at]skannex.com

please use @ instead of [at] - the above is done to prevent spam crawlers

  2. We will perform control measurements and define the level of compability with the Skannex™ system

  3. If quality and perfomance is acceptable, we will create the inital bar code to be printed on your next batch of lateral flow cassettes or single strips. That is if your assay needs a barcode to help define standard curves and batch number etc.

  4. Once you have received the image file with your unique Skannex™ Bar Code and layout metrics, you have what you need to print this on the next batch of cassettes or single strips. All you have to do is to create a new silkscreen or print layout for your cassette or strips. Once the immunoassay is bearing the Scannex™ Bar Code, you can use your immunoassay with the Skannex™ system

That's all, and we normally can provide the Bar Code within a few days.

Bar Code Application - creating the standard curves

Our partners may use the Skannex BarCode application to create a new Bar Code for their next batch. The Skannex BarCode application is an advanced R&D tool that let your technicians load raw data directly from e.g. a spreasheet and create standard curves for every batch. The standard curve will then be embedded into the bar code, which again secure accurate reading of that particular batch.

No startup costs, very small cost for a scanner or a digital camera:

Our service to help you shall be free of charge as long as your assay is suitable and we can use our standard solution. Our policy is that a partnership should rely on very low start-up costs for all parties involved. Our solution is by far the most cost effective instrument solution available, and by far the most flexible. The cost for a scanner is about EUR 75-125. Almost everyone has a cell phone with a camera. The sofisticated Skannex application will even support images taken with inexpensive USB type (web) cameras, however this type of solution will require a fixed light source and much more careful setups.

Flexible License Agreement, distribution and USB Program Key technology:

Skannex™ is a software maker, and we tailor our application to your need with your co-branding. The Matrix USB dongle, a small device called the USB Program Key which is provided by Skannex™ for each license, also controls the features of the end-user application. It controls the branding, the help files as well as the type of assays the application can read. The application may be an ELISA-Reader, a Lateral-FLow-Reader, an Allergy-Reader, a Petrifilm-Reader, and so forth. Our end user licence agreement enables you to resell and re-distribute the license using your own terms and condition towards your customers. As well as your own branding, product description and help files. The Skannex™ business model opens up new ways of saving and sharing costs.

Reprogramming of the unique USB Program Key:

A Matrix USB-dongle called the Skannex Program Key can easily be reprogrammed. Every license has its unique Dongle with serial number. The memory inside the dongle controls the feature of a Skannex application. If a user wants to extend the features, say read both Lateral Flow Cassettes and ELISA on the same platform, this can easily be adapted just by changing the memory content of the USB Program Key. This change can only be done by a special Skannex setup program, which can be sent to the end user via email. Skannex will keep a record of all licenses with its dongle and serial number, and at all times keep a record of which features every unique dongle has.

R&D version of the software:

We can offer special versions of our SW intended for R&D use. It will allow you to get raw data as well as perform other types of tests. All you need is a special version of the USB Program Key. If you already have a dongle, we can send you a small setup file that changes its features.

A common goal:

Our goal is simply this: Create a universal, robust and inexpensive system that anybody can use without the need for extensive training. Make it user friendly to read an immunoassay, no more complicated than taking a picture. Or make bacteria colony counting become automated and easy work!

You as an immunoassay manufacturer can enter into a partnership without adding cost on research and development, marketing or distribution. Because your goal is to be able to offer an instrument tailored to your immunoassays with almost no efforts free of charge!

The aim of the Skannex™ platform is to be a general reader system for anybody to use for any purpose. When the end user is able to achieve objective, accurate and reliable readings of your assay just by using standard of-the-shelf imaging technology and the existing global digital infrastructure, we will all benefit.

Capture a picture and send it to our global server using the internet or a telephone network. Receive instant and reliable result in an SMS text message or an email. Or log on to the webpage and see the results. Can it be simpler than this?

Some of the current Skannex partners:

Calpro AS Link

Calpro AS was founded by the inventors of the technology behind the ELISA kits for determination of calprotectin in stools and other biological materials.

Both the PhiCal Test (Calprest), a quantitative enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA) and the Calprotectin Quick Test, a quantitative lateral flow rapid test, can be used for detection of increased concentrations of calprotectin in plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid, urine or stools as a consequence of disease in relevant organs. During septicaemia, plasma calprotectin levels will rise more rapidly than C-reactive protein since increased synthesis of the latter by the liver takes time, while calprotectin is pre-formed in the leukocytes. (personal observations)

Calpro, as one of several partners, has chosen the Skannex™ System to be the reader platform for their quantitative lateral flow tests.

Plustek Inc. Link

Respected as the world's leading scanner manufacturer, Plustek manufactures and ships high quality scanners and other imaging products to buyers worldwide, reaching millions of users. Skannex™ has formed an important and unique alliance with Plustek Inc.

The Skannex™ applications uses the Plustek technology to create one of the world's most affordable, flexible and realiable reader systems for immunoassays.
